This job might kill us

This weekend, a one day old baby boy was brought to Esther's House Orphanage. His mother died in childbirth delivering twins. His twin sister passed away at birth also.

When I see pictures like this, it makes me wonder why. Why are some kids born in a world with excellent health care while others are not? The lack of fairness kills me.

And then to think that we will care for this baby boy for two months, then leave him in Malawi to be raised in the orphanage rips my heart out. Like I said, this job may kill us.

Bottom line is, he is our responsibility if we believe what the Bible says is true, whether we live in Malawi or in the comfort of the United States. Since Esther's House is brand new, there is no stockpile of formula or bottles or diapers. This is the first baby.

There is currently very little in the pantry, and it will be our job to fill it up during our two month stay. If you would like to contribute to Esther's House Orphanage, click the donate button on the left hand side of the page. 100% of your contribution will go to the orphanage to help the kids of Malawi.

For those of you that have already given, we want to say thank you. You are amazing and your gift will not be wasted. We will post regularly during our stay and update you on the items that are purchased with your gifts.
